Reading Charter is one of the programmes under the PICCKS Student Award Scheme at Hong Kong Education City (EdCity). Reading Charter aims to encourage students to take their first steps in reading, systematically record their reading journey, experience the joy of reading, and develop long-term reading habits. To further stimulate students’ interest in reading, this scheme also features reading pledge cards (physical & electronic cards), motivating students to collect these cards while reading.
Programme Details
- This programme offers two sets of eight reading charter cards, designed for primary and secondary schools respectively.
- Each reading charter card comes with a unique QR code and a 16-character alphanumeric code. Students can access the “My Books” page on the Hong Kong Reading City website or the “EdBookShelf” mobile app, link it to a reading record by using these codes and activate the card.
- The more a student reads, the more reading charter cards they can collect, increasing their chances of competing for awards.
- Students can create reading records and activate charter cards on the Hong Kong Reading City website.
- The physical reading cards for this academic year will be used for promotion and reward purposes.
- Please note that the programme content is subject to change, and EdCity reserves the right to make final decisions on all arrangements.
