Organised by Hong Kong Education City and Tencent Holdings Limited (Tencent), the “PICCKS x PUBG MOBILE WOW Creative Gamified Learning Competition” encourages students to use the WOW digital platform and artificial intelligence technology to unleash their creativity and design practical gamified learning solutions grounded in the idea of using technology for good. This enhances users’ knowledge and raise awareness of social issues, while also inspiring students to explore the potential of digital learning by integrating it into games and using technology to create positive value, thereby improving learning outcomes, promoting holistic development and bring positive change to the real world.
Objectives
Cultivate Creative Thinking: Encourage students to unleash their creativity on digital platforms and design practical gamified learning solutions that are both useful and socially conscious.
Promote Holistic Development: Through design and creation, nurture students’ critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork spirit, guiding them to achieve personal growth through the practical application of technology.
Enhance Digital Literacy: Students improve their digital skills during the creation process, deepening their understanding and application of technology.
Put Technology for Good into Practice: Encourage students to observe society’s needs and think further about how technology can bring positive impact to society, fostering a sense of responsibility to use technology for the benefit of others.
Target
Hong Kong secondary school students (aged 13 or above and holding an EdCity student account)
Entry Requirements
- Participants need to compete in teams, with a maximum of 2-6 members.
- Team members must be from the same school.
- Participating teams must be recommended by their school teachers, and there is no limit on the number of teams or submissions per school.
- All submitted works must be original creations
Registration
- The registration period is from 25 March 2026 to 4 May 2026. (Late submissions will not be accepted.)
- All registrations must be submitted by schools.
- Participating schools must upload the competition entry through the provided link using the same EdCity account used during registration from 4 May 2026 to 31 May 2026, before 5 pm. Once submitted, the entries cannot be modified or re-submitted.
- The date and time recorded on the system will be the official submission time. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Themes and Content
- Participating teams must select at least one PICCKS learning attribute as the theme and design gameplay aimed at enhancing knowledge. The PICCKS learning attributes are as follows:
- Participating teams must use PUBG MOBILE WOW to create their entries. Teams should complete and submit the entry form along with the game ID before the deadline to EdCity.

* Participants are advised to allow an additional 1–3 days for game review and approval on the WOW platform.

Judging Criteria
Judges will evaluate entries based on the following criteria:
Creativity (20%): Entries should be innovative in gameplay, level design, storytelling, and other aspects, and should offer replay value.
Content & Accuracy (30%): Information provided must be accurate, effectively enhance users’ knowledge, and reflect the spirit of one PICCKS learning attribute.
Game Completeness (20%): Entries should include clear and complete instructions, logical level design, win/lose conditions, and scoring or settlement mechanisms; the experience should be smooth, with no obvious programming errors.
Art & Scenes (15%): The visual art and scene style should complement the theme, with expressive visual effects.
Games for Good (15%): Entries should demonstrate concern for social issues and the spirit of promoting public well-being.
Awards
All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
- Champion, First Runner-up, Second Runner-up and Merit (5 teams) will be awarded.
- The Most Innovative Award (1 team): The most original and innovative entry in creative concept or execution.
- Best Game Experience Award (1 team): The entry with the best overall gaming experience (e.g. ease of use, smoothness, interactivity, and fun).
- Best Scene Award (1 team): The entry with the most original and beautifully crafted scenes.
- Best Games for Good Award (1 team): The entry that best demonstrates concern for social issues.
- Popular Participation Award (5 teams): Shortlisted entries that meet the rules will be made available for PUBG MOBILE users to play during the judging period. The top five entries with the highest active playtime (players with single sessions ≥3 minutes) will receive this award.

“PICCKS x PUBG MOBILE WOW Creative Gamified Learning Competition” is one of the projects under the EdCity PICCKS Student Scheme. Participation in this competition is considered automatic enrolment in the PICCKS Student Scheme.
