Objectives
- To encourage online and offline reading and sharing
- To enhance ability of comprehension, adaptation and presentation
- To help students develop oral presentation skills
- To facilitate social and emotional learning
- To cultivate parent-child or family relationship
Target
Student Group: P1-6 students in Hong Kong (each student participates as an individual)
Family Group: P1-6 students in Hong Kong with their family members (each enrolled student participates with family members as an individual, the enrolled student must be the main performer in the video)
Format
Create a video to demonstrate a chapter selected from volume 1-58 of ‘The Great Detective Sherlock Holmes’ written by Mr Lai Ho. The original intent of the story should be preserved, while the content can be adapted or trimmed.
- The video can be recorded in horizontal orientation with mobile phone or other video recording equipment. It should be 5-10 minutes in length and presented in Cantonese or Putonghua.
- File Format: AVI、MP4, MPEG, MPG, MOV or WMV (size less than 1GB)
- Performance Forms
- Read aloud or use dialogue to play the selected scene.
- Adaptation of the original or simple stage performance will be accepted, if necessary.
- Video editing of the performance is not allowed.
- Participants can join both Student and Family Groups and each participant can only submit one work in each group. (Only the participants in Student Group will be counted in the school participation rate.)
- The enrolled students in Family Group must be the main performers in the video.

Competition Guidelines
- All entries must be original and not be published in other occasions before. By submitting an entry, the participant warrants that the entry neither contains any third party copyrighted materials nor infringes any intellectual property rights of any third parties. Participants should also be aware that the content does not include obscene, violence, religious, political or other inappropriate content. Violation will be disqualified without prior notice.
- Submission of any entry indicates that the participant has read and accepted the guidelines and rules of the competition.
- Participants retain copyright over their works, while agreeing the organisers to display and publish their works to allow others to freely access, use, and share the works, with an acknowledgement of the work’s authorship and its initial presentation.
- The organisers reserve the right to decide the final results and awards.
- The competition details announced on this website shall prevail.
- The organisers reserve the right to amend, extend and interpret the competition guidelines and rules without prior notice. In case of any dispute, the organisers reserve the right of final decision.
