A special summer campaign of the Reading Charter!
Summer is coming soon! How will you enjoy your holiday while still growing and learning? In addition to continuing the Reading Charter Programme, Hong Kong Education City (EdCity) has specially launched a “Summer Reading Journey” for students. Along the way, there are multiple reading stations where everyone can set weekly reading goals, share their reading reflections, and take on reading challenges, unlocking the fun of reading step by step. Students who complete the station tasks will also have the chance to unlock achievements and win rich prizes such as electronic medals, book vouchers, and signed books.

Reading Tasks
From 29 June 2026 to 16 August 2026, EdCity will send reading task reminders to successfully registered participants every Monday via their registered email. Participants are required to use their EdCity account to log in to the EdCity website and complete the relevant activities according to the specified task requirements.
Achievements and Themed Medals
Participants who complete the task at each reading station will unlock the corresponding achievement and receive a themed electronic medal. EdCity will consolidate participants’ achievements and distribute electronic medals after the event concludes.

Hong Kong primary and secondary school students(with an EdCity student account)
Participation Requirements
- Participants must first fill out the registration form.
- Participants will receive notifications about reading task reminders via their registered email on specified days, and will need to log in to the EdCity website using their student account and follow the instructions to complete the reading tasks.
Each student who successfully registers and participates in at least one activity will receive an electronic certificate as recognition.
Schedule
Registration Period: From now until 9 August 2026 (Sunday)
Activity Period: 29 June 2026 (Monday) to 16 August 2026 (Sunday)
📍Reading Station 1: One Book Per Week, Share Reading Reflection
Task: Read one book per week themed around the six PICCKS learning attributes, then submit a short “Reading Essay” to eWorks within the specified period, briefly record the reading reflection. Once the article is published, the task will be considered completed. Students may refer to the recommended book list below, or choose books freely.

📍Reading Station 2: Activate Reading Records and Accumulate Reading Mileage
Task: Participate in the Reading Charter at different period and activate your reading charter cards. The student with the highest number of reading records will receive gifts from EdCity.
📍Reading Station 3: Join the " Book Ocean Adventure Challenge" and Win Good Picks
Task: Complete the reading game themed around “Top Ten Book Picks” on the specified period. The student with the highest score will win books selected by EdCity.
Note: If the number of reading record or game score is the same, priority will be given to the participant who completed the tasks first. EdCity reserves the final decision on the distribution of gifts and the termination of the activity. In case of any disputes, EdCity retains the final decision, and participants may not contest it.
*Scores earned during this challenge will not be counted towards the PICCKS Student Scheme. Scoring and awarding prizes will be conducted independently*
