In the springtime, it often rained, and Lily wanted a nice umbrella to get through the wet weather. She looked in different shops for her dream umbrella: a white one with stripes and a dog pattern, with a wooden handle.
After a long search, she finally found one to her liking. It had blue stripes and many small dog prints. The salesperson said, “Lucky you! It’s a limited edition and the last one we have.” Even though it wasn’t white, it was close enough to what Lily wanted. She bought it and happily took it home. Lily was so happy with her umbrella that she took it out even when it wasn’t raining. She was excited to show it to her friends and family.
But one day, she accidentally lost her favourite umbrella. She couldn’t remember where she left it. She retraced her steps, visiting the shopping mall, the park, the library, and the train station, but she couldn’t find it anywhere. Feeling sad, Lily shared her story with her best friend, Tom. He listened carefully and decided to help cheer her up.
A few days later, Tom surprised Lily with a gift. Inside was a beautiful umbrella that she loved at first sight. It was white with stripes and cute dog patterns, just like what she originally wanted! It even had a lovely wooden handle. Lily was overjoyed. “Thank you, Tom! This is even better than the one I lost!” she exclaimed.
Under her new umbrella, Lily and Tom shared many rainy-day adventures, happy for their friendship and the kindness that turned a sad moment into a joyful one.
